Eric Dean

Chief Executive Officer

Eric Dean is CEO and Founder of Whereoware, a digital agency building awesome personalized websites, crafting intuitive mobile applications, creating award-winning emails, and getting huge results with data integrations.

He directs Whereoware’s vision and strategy, helping smart companies maximize digital channels to enhance and advance their online business.

Prior to Whereoware, Eric was the founder and majority owner of Mosaic Design Works, a 25-person home decor manufacturer and wholesaler based in Virginia. Eric served as an officer in the U.S. Army and is a graduate of The College of William and Mary and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.


Jim Rothey

Chief Technology Officer

Jim Rothey oversees product development, drives cloud and mobile strategy and is the key architect of the Spotlight platform. Jim has over twenty years of experience specializing in Internet e-businesses and document and media management information retrieval systems.

Prior to joining Whereoware, Jim was the director of engineering for eMotion and before that, for Picture Network International, a Kodak company, where he built Internet-based media management cloud and software products. Jim is listed as an inventor for 4 software patents, and received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science from the Pennsylvania State University.


Jon Pelson

General Manager of Spotlight

Jon Pelson is General Manager of the Spotlight business, responsible for product management, sales, marketing and overall business P&L.

Jon has over 25 years of experience in the development, commercialization and marketing of technology. Prior to joining Whereoware Jon worked for technology firms in the US and Europe, leading teams building new mobile technologies and Test & Measurement systems. 

He served as the Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Lucent Technologies and the General Manager of their emerging wireless data business. After that he ran Nextel's fixed/mobile convergence line and later was Chief of Convergence Strategy for British Telecom. He also directed JDSU's mobile strategy. Jon holds a patent for a mobile marketing application and is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
